The Fabric District has long been one of Liverpool’s hidden gems. Just moments from the city centre, it is now being rediscovered and reimagined by a new wave of entrepreneurs, established developers and long-standing local businesses.

Founded in 2017, the Fabric District CIC is driving the regeneration of Liverpool’s London Road and Islington areas, creating a place where business, culture, and community thrive.

And the area is starting to gain the recognition it deserves with The Times recently naming it one of the Best Places to Live in the North West 2025, one of the Best Places to Invest in the UK, AND one of the best places to live if you’re under 35!

One of the key pillars of the Fabric District is celebrating and growing our strong cultural offer as a key part of regenerating the area. The district is already home to a lively music and arts scene and is a vibrant hub for creative enterprises, including Kempston Street Studios (formerly Parr Street Studios), which has hosted artists from Coldplay to Miles Kane, and The Tapestry, a creative community hub in a converted warehouse.

Against this backdrop, the Fabric District CIC is looking to bolster the board with a new lead on culture. This Culture Pillar Lead will develop the District’s cultural regeneration strategy and establish partnerships with creative organisations across Liverpool.

If you’re passionate about culture, regeneration, and Liverpool’s future, this is your chance to make a real impact. The role takes around one day a month and offers the chance to work with a dedicated team shaping the Fabric District’s next chapter.

Role Profile

Fabric District CIC Board Member – Culture Lead

Help shape one of Liverpool’s most exciting neighbourhoods.

We’re looking for a passionate, connected and creative thinker to join our Board and lead our work in culture-led regeneration.

Culture is central to the identity of the Fabric District. The district is already home to a lively music and arts scene and is a vibrant hub for creative enterprises, including Kempston Street Studios (formerly Parr Street Studios), which has hosted artists from Coldplay to Miles Kane, and The Tapestry, a creative community hub in a converted warehouse.

The role

We’re looking for a Culture Pillar Lead to join the Board and help celebrate and grow our strong cultural offer as a key part of regenerating the area.

You’ll:

  • Lead the development of a cultural regeneration strategy for the district
  • Build relationships with cultural organisations and leaders across Liverpool
  • Encourage cultural partners to hold events within the Fabric District
  • Champion culture as a driving force for change in the area

This is a strategic role, but it’s also about making things happen.

Who we’re looking for

You might be an artist, producer, organiser, curator, or someone working behind the scenes in Liverpool’s cultural world.

What matters most is that you:

  • Care about Liverpool and its creative future
  • Understand how culture can shape places and communities
  • Have experience delivering or supporting cultural activity or events
  • Are well-connected (or excited to be) across the city’s creative networks
  • Bring energy, ideas, and a willingness to get stuck in
  • Can think strategically, but aren’t afraid of rolling up your sleeves

You don’t need previous board experience—we’re more interested in what you bring.

What you’ll get

  • A chance to shape the future of a fast-changing part of Liverpool
  • The opportunity to work alongside a committed and ambitious board
  • A platform to support and grow the city’s creative scene
  • A role that makes a visible, lasting impact

The role is voluntary and takes around one day per month.
